Irish Artists Go Online To Eliminate Commission

Monday March 06 by Claudia bourneArt Daily
Fed up with galleries taking up to 50% commission from sales, Irish artists are to take their work directly to the people via the internet. A database of 900 Irish visual artists will go online within months, each displaying up to 10 pieces of their work. Thirty-six skills will be represented. Apart from painting and sculpture, there will be jewellery, silverware, stained glass, photography and ceramics.
